AZ Alkmaar technical director Max Huiberts has ruled out the chances of Adam Maher returning to the club this summer.

The midfielder is returning to PSV Eindhoven this summer after spending last season on loan with Turkish side Osmanlispor, but he isn’t expected to remain at the Philips Stadion.

Maher has been linked with a return to his first club AZ Alkmaar, where he made his professional debut before joining PSV in 2013. However, Max Huiberts has ruled out a move for the 23-year-old.

Huiberts told NH, “We have enough guys around for that position.”

The director was referring to Illias Bel Hassani, who he expects to play a bigger role in the new campaign, “We think that there is much more to get from Bel Hassani.”

Maher has also been linked with Sporting club de Portugal, while clubs from England and Italy are also monitoring the Dutch international.
