Managerless ADO Den Haag were held to a 0-0 draw by FC Twente in the Hague on Saturday evening.

The tie was the first for ADO Den Haag since Alfons Groenendijk left, with interim boss Dirk Heesens taking charge against Twente.

The first half saw both sides struggle to create any chances with Keito Nakamura wasting the best opportunity for Twente after a swift break.

In the second half, ADO keeper Luuk Koopmans denied Aitor but the best chances fell just before the end for the hosts. Lex Immers was through on goal but Joel Drommel denied the midfielder. Then Michiel Kramer seemed certain to score only for his strike to be blocked by teammate Danny Bakker.

The point means ADO Den Haag remains 17th while Twente are 12th.
