A first half goal from Amin Younes was enough to see Ajax beat bitter rivals ADO Den Haag in the Kyocera Stadion.

younes ajaadoThe league leaders started the game brightly and their possession eventually provided the opening goal halfway through the first half. A long ball forward by Joel Veltman was chested down by Amin Younes, who jinked into the box before sliding the ball past Martin Hansen.

The game was then marred by shocking jungle noises aimed at Riechedly Bazoer from the home crowd, and ADO Den Haag should expect strong action from the KNVB.

In the second half Jasper Cillessen was called into action to firstly deny Ruben Schaken, which left the goalkeeper with a bloody nose, and then Mike Havenaar who should have leveled the scores.

In the closing stages Anwar El Ghazi struck the crossbar with a header, but the miss didn’t end up costing Ajax as they held on for all three points.

Ajax remain in pole position for the title, while ADO Den Haag sit 11th.
