AZ went into the game looking for their first league win since the end of September and they created the best chances in the first half with Derrick Luckassen going close from a free kick and then sending a header into the side netting.
Early in the second half,Mike Havenaar forced Sergio Rochet into a save with a rare ADO Den Haag attack but it was AZ again who created the better chances through Illias Bel Hassani and Luckassen. John van den Brom’s side were set for a frustrating point but in the final minute of the game, substitute Robert Muhren fired in the winner at the back post from Alireza Jahanbakhsh’s cross.
The win moves AZ up to sixth while ADO Den Haag are 11th.
