Feyenoord made it 10 league wins in a row with a slender victory over bottom of the table ADO Den Haag.

Ajax and PSV winning earlier in the weekend meant the pressure was once again on Feyenoord and although they weren’t at their best on Sunday, Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side ground out a 1-0 win.

The hosts kept Feyenoord at bay in the first half and really should have been ahead at the break but Guyon Fernandez and Edouard Duplan missed decent chances.

Feyenoord woke up in the second half and on 63 minutes they made the breakthrough as Eljero Elia brilliantly sent Miquel Nelom through on the left, and the full back’s cross was fired into the net by Karim El Ahmadi.

ADO came close to an equaliser before the end but Mike Havenaar was denied by an excellent Brad Jones save. The victory keeps Feyenoord five points clear at the top ahead of their tie against PSV next week. ADO Den Haag remain bottom.
