Rock bottom De Graafschap earned their second point of the season with a hard fought 1-1 draw at ADO Den Haag.

zuiverloon ado jjWithout a win in their last six matches ADO Den Haag’s home fans were expecting a good performance from their sideĀ against De Graafschap, but it was the visitors who made the better start. Erik Quekel created the best chance for De Graafschap in the opening half hour but the striker shot straight into Martin Hansen’s face.

ADO Den Haag’s first real chance on 40 minutes resulted in a goal as Mike Havenaar tapped in a corner for his sixth of the season. However De Graafschap were level before the break when ADO defender Gianni Zuiverloon tried to clear Youssef El Jebli’s cross but only diverted it into his own net.

In the second half ADO Den Haag pushed for a winner, but Hidde Jurjus kept out shots from Roland Alberg and Ruben Schaken, while Havenaar headed a good chance over the bar as the away side clung onto a point.

De Graafschap remain bottom but are now only three points behind Cambuur, while ADO Den Haag stay 14th.
