PSV Eindhoven will probably have to settle for third place this season after they were held to a 1-1 draw by ADO Den Haag.

Phillip Cocu decided to drop captain Luuk de Jong to the bench after his abject performances recently and Jurgen Locadia got the chance to impress through the middle.
The decision paid off in the seventh minute with Locadia laying the ball off for Davy Propper to fire in the opening goal. Moments after that Andres Guardado was inches away from doubling the lead with a strike that whizzed just past the post.
ADO Den Haag had won their last three games, but they were well off the pace in the first half as PSV moved the ball around like it was a training game. The hosts only positive going into the break was that they were only one goal behind.
In the second half, PSV failed to kill the game off and Mike Havenaar gave them a massive scare on 55 minutes when he found the net only for the offside flag to go up. However, the warning didn’t spring PSV into action and despite Luuk de Jong coming on they failed to find the decisive second goal.
Then in the 87th minute ADO Den Haag made them pay. Aaron Meijers hammered a shot at goal which Jeroen Zoet parried but only for Havenaar to nod in the rebound. The point means ADO Den Haag move four points clear of the drop zone, while PSV are three points behind second placed Ajax, who play Heerenveen on Sunday. It looks like the season is over for Cocu’s side who look destined for third.
