PSV Eindhoven have dropped points in their first game of the Eredivisie campaign as a stunning 95th minute equaliser by Martin Hansen saw ADO Den Haag hold the champions to a 2-2 draw.

hansen adoThe Champions got off to an energetic start in the Hague, with Luciano Narsingh passing up an excellent opportunity to open the scoring after a swift counter, before Martin Hansen kept out Adam Maher’s shot. Eventually after 23 minutes the opening goal came for PSV as Adam Maher received Davy Propper’s pass before calmly beating Hansen, the goal stood despite the midfielder standing in an offside position.

The lead only lasted a minute as ADO Den Haag were awarded a penalty for an alleged foul by Santiago Arias on Aaron Meijers, although contact looked just outside the box. Roland Alberg stepped up to take the spot kick and drew the home side level.

ADO Den Haag then dominated the rest of the first half, with Ruben Schaken giving Joshua Brenet a hard time, but they could not make their pressure count.

In the second half PSV improved and after Propper saw a shot saved by Hansen and Andres Guardado fired just wide, Luuk de Jong restored the away side’s lead with an excellent header from Luciano Narsingh’s cross.

The goal seemed to be the winner, but in the 94th minute a free kick was flicked past Jeroen Zoet by goalkeeper Martin Hansen. PSV could have won the game a minute later, but De Jong fired over from point blank range and the points were shared.

A poor start by PSV Eindhoven, who immediately fall behind Ajax and Feyenoord in the race for the title.
