ADO Den Haag surrendered a two goal lead before finally seeing off Willem II 3-2 at the Kyocera Stadion to ease the pressure on coach Henk Fraser.

kramer ado denThe home side went into the match just one place above the relegation zone, but after only two minutes Mathias Gehrt raced onto Roland Alberg’s through ball before firing low into the bottom corner to make it 1-0.

It was 2-0 for ADO Den Haag ten minutes before the break with the league’s top scorer Michiel Kramer showing some excellent footwork in the box, beating three challenges before poking the ball past Kostas Lamprou.

Willem II have shown some excellent spirit since their promotion from the Eerste Divisie, and in the space of 12 minutes second half minutes the away side drew level. On 51 minutes Stijn Wuytens waltzed through the ADO Den Haag defence before squeezing the ball past Martin Hansen, and eleven minutes later Samuel Armenteros got on the end of Mitchel Dijk’s cross to head in the equaliser.

However all Willem II’s hard work was undone when Terell Ondaan fouled Aaron Meijers in the box, handing ADO Den Haag a penalty and the win as Roland Alberg made no mistake from the spot to make it 3-2.

The win moves ADO Den Haag clear of the bottom three, while Willem II remain 10th.
