The hosts have gone under the radar this season but their win over FC Twente at the weekend lifted them up to eighth in the table.
However, it was Roda JC who made a fast start in the Hague as Dani Schahin gave them the lead after only six minutes with a close range finish. ADO Den Haag quickly equalised on 14 minutes through Lex Immers, who slid in a Sheraldo Becker cross.
Both sides missed chances before Roda JC were awarded a penalty just before the break for a foul on Schahin. Simon Gustafson made no mistake from the spot to put the visitors back in front.
ADO Den Haag went looking for an equaliser in the second half and it eventually came on 68 minutes when Hidde Jurjus could only parry Bjorn Johnsen’s header into the path of Immers who netted his 2nd. Five minutes later, the home side took the lead as Erik Falkenburg headed in.
Roda JC couldn’t find an equaliser and were reduced to ten men before the end with Henk Dijkhuizen shown his second yellow card. With the victory ADO Den Haag move clear in eighth while Roda JC drop back to 18th.
