Sheraldo Becker netted the only goal of the game as ADO Den Haag defeated Vitesse Arnhem 1-0 at the Kyocera Stadion.

Henk Fraser handed Roy Beerens his first start in the Hague, while Luc Castaignos came in for the suspended Tim Matavz.

The first half was a dull affair with neither side really coming close to the opening goal. The highlight was a lovely nutmeg by Nasser El Khayati on Thomas Bruns.

Ten minutes into the second half, ADO Den Haag took the lead when Sheraldo Becker raced through on goal before slotting the ball past Remko Pasveer.

Castaignos was presented with an excellent chance to level the scores for Vitesse but he couldn’t convert Bryan Linssen’s cross from point-blank range. The visitors pressed but Robert Zwinkels was barely threatened in the ADO Den Haag goal and they held on to claim all three points.

ADO Den Haag rise to eighth and only one spot behind Vitesse.
