steijnADO Den Haag put in another limp display on Tuesday, and were hammered 3-0 at the Kyocera stadion by Heracles, who could have added two or three more goals to that score.

With the club rooted to the bottom of the Eredivisie table Tuesday nights defeat proved to be the last straw for the ADO Den Haag board, who fired Steijn.

Steijn was appointed ADO coach in July 2011, taking over from John van den Brom, and his first season as a coach ended with his side finishing 15th, and one place above the relegation play-off spots.

Last season the club improved, and Steijn led ADO to a ninth place finish, but despite early season optimism the club have only won six out of 22 matches, and are in real danger of being relegated.

The club will now look to make a speedy appointment, and one that they hope will boost the club with ties against fellow relegation candidates Roda JC, NAC Breda, and Go Ahead Eagles coming up.
