Feyenoord head coach Dick Advocaat was left disappointed that his side could not take their chances in the 1-0 loss to Ajax on Sunday.

Ryan Gravenberch gave Ajax the lead in the 22nd minute before Feyenoord took control and missed several chances. The game ended 1-0 to Ajax.

After the game, Advocaat told ESPN that his side were dominant, Certainly today, except for the first twenty minutes.

“After the 1-0 Feyenoord was the dominant party. Tactically we had a plan to switch Jens (Toornstra) or Mark (Diemers) with Leroy (Fer). That worked out very well. We had some opportunities on this. an offside goal: one just wide, just not in, on the crossbar. The team deserved more than this.

“The team was there, it is a pity that it is not rewarded. This must give a good feeling when you play so well against such a good team. It was really up to us this time. That is nice to see.”
