Advocaat took on the position back in August and had a contract until mid-2022, but he leaves after only six games in charge.
Iraq drew four and lost two of those six games and they currently sit second bottom of their World Cup qualifying group. Advocaat quits just days before Iraq begins its Arab Nations cup campaign.
After spells in charge of the Netherlands, the United Arab Emirates, South Korea, Belgium, Russia, and Serbia, Advocaat brings his seventh international position to an end.
