Ajax have kept the pressure on leaders Feyenoord after a simple 3-0 win over ADO Den Haag in the Amsterdam Arena.

All eyes in the Arena were on 17-year-old Justin Kluivert who was handed his first league start for Ajax. The youngster was straight into the thick of the action as he had a penalty appeal turned down after going over from a Danny Bakker challenge. He then set up Kasper Dolberg for the games first big chance, but the striker couldn’t convert.
After eleven minutes, Ajax did take the lead as Dolberg sent Hakim Ziyech through on goal and the midfielder calmly slotted the ball past Ernastus Setkus. Ajax then laid siege to the
Ajax then laid siege to the visitors goal but both Dolberg and Nick Viergever hit the woodwork, while Amin Younes shot wide. Eventually on 34 minutes, it was 2-0 through a stunning Lasse Schone free-kick which flew into the top corner.
After the break, ADO Den Haag became dangerous on the counter, but Ruben Schaken failed to net from close range before Eduard Duplan sent a shot just over the bar.
At the other end Dolberg smashed the crossbar with a stunning overhead kick and it seemed the Dane’s goal drought was going to continue. However, fifteen minutes before the end a corner was headed to the back post by Davy Klaassen and Dolberg was there to stab in Ajax’s third.
The victory moves Ajax two points behind Feyenoord, who face NEC in the weekends final game. ADO Den Haag remain four points ahead of bottom side Go Ahead Eagles and have work to do before the transfer window shuts in two days.
