Ajax put a run of three straight defeats behind them as they beat PEC Zwolle 4-0.

It was a rough seven days for Ajax, who lost against Liverpool and Atalanta (both 1-0) in the Champions League to exit the competition. They also lost 2-1 at home to FC Twente last week in the Eredivisie.

Klaas Jan Huntelaar started the clash with PEC Zwolle with Lassina Traore and Brian Brobbey injured. The veteran only needed seven minutes to open the scoring with a header.

It was a special moment for the striker, who has now scored 150 times in the Eredivisie.

Four minutes later, Quincy Promes made it 2-0 after fine work by Antony. The Brazilian then capped a good half by making it 3-0 after a lovely pass from Ryan Gravenberch. It could have been 4-0 before half-time but Promes hit the post.

In the second half, Erik ten Hag handed debuts to Kenneth Taylor and Victor Jensen as they eased through the second half. With the last kick of the game, Gravenberch made it 4-0 with a lovely strike from the edge of the box.

Ajax move five points clear at the top of the table, while PEC Zwolle are 11th.
