According to Voetbal International, Ajax have paid Utrecht an initial €5.5 million for the midfielder but the deal could rise to €6 million with bonuses.

Labyad put pen-to-paper on his four-year contract on Monday and will reunite with former Utrecht boss Erik Ten Hag in the summer. Firstly, Labyad will represent Utrecht in the European playoff final against Vitesse.

The five-time Moroccan international started his career with PSV Eindhoven before spells with Sporting Lisbon, Vitesse, and Fulham. He joined Utrecht in 2017 and has made 56 appearances for the club since, scoring 19 goals and contributing 15 assists.

Labyad is Ajax’s third summer signing so far after Hassane Bande and Perr Schuurs.
