The 48-year-old led Jong Ajax to second place in the Eerste Divisie last season, but he has now made a step up to coach the first team, signing a contract until 2019, with the option of a further year.
Keizer told the Ajax website “The conversations we have had were indeed positive and I feel trust from the organisation. I had set myself up to get a good result in the Jupiler League next season with Jong Ajax, but in football, it may suddenly be different. This is, of course, a very nice opportunity that I take with both hands.”
Keizer has previously coached Telstar, FC Emmen and Cambuur. He took charge of Jong Ajax last season.
