Arsenal v Fenerbahce SK - UEFA Champions League Play-offs: Second LegThe 22-year-old joined Arsenal in 2013 from Auxerre, but has scored only one goal in twenty appearances for Arsene Wenger’s side, and spent the end of last season on loan with Crystal Palace.

Sanogo now joins Ajax for the whole of next season, and will be the clubs second striker along with Arkaduisz Milik. The Frenchman replaces Kolbeinn Sigthorsson, who joined Nantes earlier this summer.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger said on the move, “He needs to play.

“He came to us injured and it took us a while to get him to the top level. He’s ready to play now and I’m sure he can be a good signing for Ajax.

“He has an opportunity to play in the Champions League with Ajax, which is good experience. We have a good relationship with them and hopefully he can have a great season.”
