According to De Telegraaf journalist Steven Kooijman, Ajax have scouted AZ Alkmaar several times this season.

Kooijman is AZ Alkmaar watcher for De Telegraaf and he answered several fans questions on the newspaper’s website.
One asked if Ajax were showing concrete interest in Myron Boadu, Calvin Stengs and Owen Wijndal. He responded, “Of course Ajax finds this trio very interesting players, Ajax scout Hans van der Zee has often sat in the stands to watch them.”
Kooijman even believes that Ajax could use Frank de Boer to lure Stengs to the club. The winger is currently dating De Boer’s daughter, “In current football, the first contacts are no longer made through the clubs, it has become a gray area. In the case of Stengs, a ball might just have been thrown in the informal circuit.”
Boadu, Stengs and Wijndal all have lengthy contracts at AZ Alkmaar, who have stated in the past their reluctance to sell their key players to a rival club. Ajax would have to pay a high fee to sign any of the trio.
