Ajax are seriously interested in signing Hamburg defender Rick van Drongelen.

Hamburg currently sit second bottom in the Bundesliga and have nine games to steer themselves away from relegation. Should they fail then a summer exodus is expected with van Drongelen one of those expected to leave.
According to BILD, Ajax already made a €7 million bid for the 19-year-old defender in January but that was rejected. The Amsterdammers are expected to return with a fresh offer in the summer but will face competition from clubs in Germany and England.
Van Drongelen swapped Sparta Rotterdam for Hamburg in the summer and has made 13 Bundesliga appearances this season.
