Ajax look set to dip into the South American market once again with UOL reporting that the club scouts have been impressed by Gremio duo Arthur and Pedro Geromel.

The Amsterdam club have had a focus on the South American market over the past year, signing the likes of Davinson Sanchez, David Neres and Luis Manuel Orejuela.
According to UOL, Ajax are now interested in signing Gremio duo Arthur and Pedro Geromel after scouting the duo. The interest in Geromel is striking since the central defender is 32-years old, but he could add much-needed experience to a young Ajax backline. The defender has previously played in Europe for the likes of Mallorca and Cologne.
Arthur is a 21-year-old attacking midfielder, who is reportedly interesting a number of clubs around Europe and recently signed a new Gremio deal which includes a €50 million release clause. He has made 37 appearances for Gremio, scoring twice.
