zimling sndAfter selling Daley Blind to Manchester United, and losing Christian Poulsen earlier this summer, Ajax have been on the lookout for a new experienced midfielder to join their squad and on Monday they completed the deal for Zimling.

Zimling joins until the end of the season, but Ajax have an option to sign the 29-year-old on a permanent deal at the end of the season if he impresses.

Its not the first time Zimling will have played in Netherlands, with the defensive midfielder spending the 2010/11 season on loan at NEC Nijmegen, while he has also played for Udinese, and Club Brugge before joining Mainz last summer.

Zimling made 28 league appearances for Mainz last season, scoring twice, but will now join up with Ajax after the international break as the club look to turn around a poor run of form which has seem them lose their last two matches.

Ajax have ended this summer having signed six players with Zimling joining Robert Muric, Nick Viergever, Richairo Zivkovic, Diederik Boer and Arkadiusz Milik.
