Its been well documented this month that De Boer was looking to strengthen his wing positions, with the club being linked with a number of players.
In the summer, Ajax failed with a bid for Ola John, but it seemed last week that the club were close to securing the 21-year-old Dutchman on loan for the rest of the season.
However speaking after Ajax’s 2-1 loss to Galatasaray, De Boer confirmed that they have pulled out of any deal for John, and will instead promote youngsters.
De Boer told Voetbal International, “I made the decision. We’re going to do it with this group. We have so many talented right wingers who can play.”
“I have a good feeling over junior Ricardo Kishna. Lesley de Sa is doing well and we have Bojan Krkic and Lasse Schöne, ”
The collapse of the deal will be a big blow to Ola John, who is yet to make a league appearance for Benfica this season. The winger is hoping to move this month in order to stake a claim for a spot in Louis van Gaals Netherlands squad for next summers World Cup.
