Ajax will be top of the Eredivisie at Christmas after a 4-2 win at ADO Den Haag.

Within the space of 12 first-half minutes, Ajax raced into a 4-0 lead in the Hague.

In the 20th minute, Dusan Tadic opened the scoring from a Sean Klaiber cross before Klaas Jan Huntelaar made it 2-0 with a header. Antony set up Zakaria Labyad for the third before Huntelaar scored another header to make it 4-0 in the 32nd minute.

At the break, Erik ten Hag decided to make a triple change with Kenneth Taylor, Lisandro Martinez, and Quincy Promes coming on. It was Promes first appearance since his arrest last weekend.

Ajax took their foot off the gas in the second half and in the 49th minute, Michiel Kramer controlled a cross with his chest before firing past Andre Onana to make it 4-1. Samy Bourard then pulled another back with a low strike that went through Onana.

That proved to be the last goal of the game and Ajax remain three points ahead of PSV Eindhoven going into the last game of the year next week. ADO Den Haag are 17th.
