AS Roma are looking for a new boss after Claudio Ranieri stepped down at the end of the campaign.
Sky Italia reported on Tuesday that the Serie A club turned their attentions to Erik ten Hag and made an approach to Ajax. However, the Amsterdammers were clear that a deal for their coach is not negotiable.
De Telegraaf confirms these reports and add that Ajax are still mad at Roma for the way they treated Hakim Ziyech last summer.
Roma agreed personal terms with Ziyech over a move and were willing to meet Ajax’s asking price. However, they then went quiet and pulled out of the move.
Ajax are currently in talks with Ten Hag over a new deal. His current contract runs out next year and both parties are hoping for an extension.
