According to Mundo Deportivo, Ajax rejected bids from both Tottenham Hotspur and Barcelona for Frenkie de Jong this summer.

The Spanish newspaper has been full of rumours this summer linking De Jong to Barcelona and their latest story surrounding the midfielder was released on Sunday.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Ajax received a bid of between €25-30 million from Barcelona that was swiftly turned down by director Marc Overmars. Tottenham then tried with a bid of at least €50 million which was also turned down.

Ajax had no intention of losing the 21-year-old this summer but both clubs are set to return with fresh offers next summer. Manchester City, Borussia Dortmund and PSG are also interested.
