Following Diederik Boer’s switch to PEC Zwolle Ajax have been actively looking for a backup goalkeeper to provide Andre Onana with some competition for the upcoming seasons. With van Leer putting pen to paper the Amsterdammers have succeeded in capturing their first choice for a fee of around €700,000. The 24-year-old spent three years as first choice keeper at Roda JC Kerkrade, having previously spent a season at Jong PSV.

Elsewhere, after only one year at the club and with a handful of appearances to show for it, Heiko Westermann appears on the move again. This time, as Voetbal International report, the centre-half is on the brink of agreeing on a permanent transfer to the Austria Vienna, which would see him link up with his former manager Thorsten Fink.
