Netherlands U21 boss Fred Grim has added Ajax striker Sam Hendriks and Twente defender Peet Bijen to his squad for the Euro qualifier in Slovakia.

Grim was forced to call-up the duo after Ajax midfielder Daley Sinkgraven and Lazio defender Wesley Hoedt withdrew from the squad with minor injuries.
Hendriks earns his first call-up at this level after impressing for Jong Ajax this season, with seven goals in 10 games. Centre back Peet Bijen has four caps for the U21’s, and has made eight Eredivisie appearances for Twente this season, scoring one goal.
Netherlands U21 currently sit top of the qualifying group for the 2017 Euros, but face a tricky trip to Slovakia on Tuesday. In the reverse fixture last month the Slovakian’s ran out 3-1 winners.
