Youri Mulder believes Ajax would be getting an excellent goalkeeper if they signed Freiburg star Alexander Schwolow.

German outlet Kicker reported on Friday that Ajax were keen on signing Schwolow as a replacement for Andre Onana.

Speaking to Ziggo Sport, Mulder praised the 27-year-old, “He is a good keeper. He does not let in many goals. SC Freiburg is doing well, they are seventh and still participate for the Champions League. You can compare him a bit with Ter Stegen, Neuer and Nübel. He is such a type of keeper. He is stoic, good with feet and a good age. “

Schwolow has a contract with Freiburg until 2022 and would cost around €7-8 million. Schalke 04 and Benfica are also reportedly interested.
