Ryan Gravenberch, Brian Brobbey, Sontje Hansen, Kenneth Taylor and brothers Jurriën and Quinten Timber are all contracted until 2021, while Naci Unuvar has an extra year. Ajax wants to tie them all down to new deals to stop them leaving on a free.
However, Voetbal International is reporting that the negotiations have stopped, due to the corona virus outbreak. The virus has hit the club’s finances, but the negotiations are not just difficult because of money. The talents also want to know how much first-team action they are set to receive over the next year.
Gravenberch is already a regular with the Ajax first-team, but he can count on interest from some of the biggest clubs around Europe, just like Hansen.
Marc Overmars will halt the negotiations for a few weeks before going to the table with each talent to try and find a solution.
