VFL Wolfsburg have attempted to raid Ajax for the second time this transfer window with a bid for highly prized young asset Jairo Riedewald. The bid for Riedewald comes shortly after Wolfsburg secured the signing of another Ajax prodigy, Riechedly Bazoer for €12 million.
However, according to De Telegraaf, Ajax have rejected the bid for Riedewald as manager Peter Bosz sees him as a key component of his side, due to his versatility. Riedewald can play either left back, central defence or in midfield and has impressed, most notably against PSV.
Riedewald has featured 20 times in all competitions for Ajax this season and has a contract which runs until 2020. The player is currently valued at €6.5 million.
