The draw for the Europa League playoff round was made on Friday with both Ajax and Utrecht involved.

After dropping down from the Champions League, Ajax will come up against Norwegian side Rosenborg as they hope to progress in the Europa league. Rosenborg also dropped down from the Champions League after a defeat to Scottish side Celtic.
Utrecht’s reward for making it past Lech Poznan is a tricky looking tie against Russian giants Zenit st Petersburg. However, Erik ten Hag’s side can take heart from the fact that this Zenit side is probably the weakest in some years.
The matches are played on Thursday the 17th and 24th of August.
