veltman jeCentral defender Joel Veltman (22), and midfielder Davy Klaassen (20) have become key members of Frank de Boers Ajax side this season, which looks on course to win the clubs 4th Eredivisie title in a row.

This morning De Telegraaf reported that Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea have sent scouts to watch Veltman in action, while Arsenal have also been heavily linked to Klaassen.

Both players have long term contracts with the Amsterdam club, and Marc Overmars hase vowed to barricade down the doors when other clubs come knocking.

Overmars told Sky Sports,  “We are constantly working on a puzzle and every time you have it almost complete, it can fall apart, because a piece is snapped up.

“But I’m going to the gate and lie in front of it when they come for Joel Veltman or Davy Klaassen. I love Ajax being attractive for a transfer, but these guys do not get out of here.”

“We have the intention to break open the contracts, and then upgrade and extend,”
