Ajax have announced that the Amsterdam Arena’s seating will undergo a revamp in 2018 to match the club’s traditional red and white shirts.

a-arenaThe stadiums current blue, green, orange and red chairs will be replaced with a red and white pattern in stages over the next year.

CEO Edwin van der Sar said on the changes, “We think the final design has become very good. The way the letters Ajax have been incorporated into the stands immediately reminds me of De Meer. ”

The seats will probably not be the only change to the Amsterdam Arena over the next year, with the family of Johan Cruyff and the owners of the stadium close to an agreement which will see the name of the Arena changed to honour the Netherlands legend.
