Sparta Rotterdam manager Alex Pastoor spoke to the NOS after his team’s 2-1 victory at home to FC Groningen.

The victory was Sparta Rotterdam’s first in their last six games and lifted them off the bottom of the table.
Pastoor said, ”The Eredivisie table looks a little a bit different tonight. We are really happy with the victory because we fought really hard for it especially in the first half.
”We had periods in the game today where we played well. But playing well must lead to chances and chances must lead to goals.
”I thought we had difficulty in defending the second balls which resulted in attacking threats from FC Groningen that could have very well lead to conceding goals.
”We are really satisfied with picking up 3 points today.”
