He lauded new striker Robert Muhren who scored on his debut. He also stated that Sparta Rotterdam are searching for a more balanced squad during the remainder of the transfer window.
Pastoor said, ”I am delighted for Robert Muhren that he scored on his debut. He played really well today. I consider him as a playmaker and a number 10 but if needs to be he can also play as a striker but here at Sparta Rotterdam, we plan to use him as a playmaker.
”This past week we signed Robert Muhren and Sander Fischer. In the past two pre seasons with have started with the same squad and that is good because then the players know the strengths and weaknesses of their teammates.
”This pre-season we lost 2 players after 3 weeks so we had to act quickly. I believe this team has potential in the way we play football and our energy. I thought we played well today but there is always room for improvement.
”We are searching during the remainder of the transfer window for a more balanced squad and we hope to be able to play players in the right positions.”
