NEC Nijmegen have appointed Heracles Almelo assistant Robby Alflen as their new head coach.

Peter Hyballa was sacked by NEC in April, with Ron de Groot taking charge until the end of the season. The club are still battling against relegation with the second leg of their tie with NAC Breda on Sunday.
Alflen will take charge after the final game of the season, whether NEC are in the Eredivisie or not.
The former midfielder had a short stint in charge of Utrecht back in 2014, before becoming John Stegeman’s assistant with Heracles Almelo earlier this year.
