Amsterdam has been chosen by UEFA as one of the host cities for the Euro 2020 tournament meaning the Amsterdam Arena will host four matches.

Amsterdam ArenaFor the sixtieth anniversary of the European Championships UEFA have decided to hold the tournament in thirteen different cities with Amsterdam today picked as one of the host cities. Ajax’s Amsterdam Arena will host three group stage matches and one second round match.

The Amsterdam Arena holds 53, 052 fans and hosted a Euro 2000 semi-final along with the 2013 Europa League final and the 1998 Champions League final.

London’s Wembley beat Munich’s Allianz Arena to win the rights to host both semi-finals and the final. The German city will host one of the quarter finals along with Baku, St Petersburg, and Rome.

The 13 nations picked for the finals are: Amsterdam, London, Dublin, Munich, Baku, Rome, St Petersburg, Copenhagen, Bucharest, Bilbao, Glasgow, Brussels, and Budapest.
