According to RTBF, Phillip Cocu is the favourite to take over the vacant managerial position at Belgian side Anderlecht.

In the summer, Cocu left PSV Eindhoven to take over at Turkish giants Fenerbahce, but after only a few months the Dutchman was sacked.

However, a quick return to management may be on the cards, with Anderlecht reportedly looking to appoint Cocu as the successor to Hein Vanhaezebrouck, who was sacked a few days ago.

Anderlecht announced on Thursday that Frank Arnesen, who was working at PSV, has been appointed as their new technical director and it seems he is pushing for a reunion with Cocu in Belgium.

Anderlecht currently sit fourth in the Belgian League
