kali willWillem II have commenced squad planning for next season with the extension of midfielder Anouar Kali’s contract for an additional two years. Kali, who operates in central midfield, joined Willem II on a free transfer following his release from Qatar side Al-Arabi in 2015. Despite being injured for most of the 2015-16 campaign, Kali obviously did enough to impress his manger Erwin van de Looi.

Erwin van de Looi gave his reaction to the contract extension saying “I’m glad that Anouar is staying at Willem II. We talked to each other and I think he can play an important role for our team.”

Kali was also pleased to extend terms adding “because of my injury, I could not offer much in recent months. I’m glad I’m back in the jersey of Willem II and can be of value to the club after the summer.”

Willem II narrowly avoided relegation last season winning a playoff against NAC Breda. Kali will be hoping to help Willem improve on their sixteenth position in the coming Eredivise campaign.
