Arsenal have confirmed the appointment of Dutchman Albert Stuivenberg as one of Mikel Arteta’s assistants.

Arteta was appointed as the new head coach of Arsenal last week and has now assembled his coaching team.

Freddie Ljungberg stays on as an assistant and he has been joined by Albert Stuivenberg.

The Dutchman, who has previously worked as an assistant to Louis van Gaal at Manchester United, joins Arsenal with immediate effect. However, he will also stay on as his role as assistant with the Welsh national team until after Euro 2020.

Arteta told the Arsenal website, “I am delighted to have this talented group of coaches alongside me. They bring a great mix of experience and fresh thinking. Along with the talented people we have in the club already they will be key people to get us back to winning ways.”
