The 22-year-old reportedly said yes to Ajax’s offer on Monday night and only a medical, which will take place this week, stands in the way of the deal being completed. Ajax are hoping to unveil their new signing at the end of this week.
Ajax have beaten off competition from French side Lille to net the striker, who will provide competition for Arkaduisz Milik after both Kolbeinn Sigthorsson and Richairo Zivkovic (loan) left this summer.
The French U21 international joined Arsenal in 2013 after proving prolific for Auxerre. However Sanogo has struggled to score goals in England, with only one in 20 games for Arsenal, and one in eleven on loan with Crystal Palace at the end of last season.
