According to Calciomercato, Arsenal is ready to move for Ajax left-back Nicolas Tagliafico.

Having only joined the Dutch giants from his native Argentina in January 2016, the former Independiente man has found a new plaudit in Unai Emery, with reports stating that the Arsenal manager now sees Tagliafico as a potential long-term replacement for Nacho Monreal.

Interest in Tagliafico has been common since his switch to Europe. His rapid rise had peaked the interest of many clubs, but it was Rafa Benitez’s Newcastle who had the most concrete interest in the summer and they may still rival Arsenal.

However, the £8 million they were reportedly quoted will have drastically changed since his World Cup performances and experience in the Champions League.
