Arsenal will hand Dutch goalkeeper Guy Smit a two-week trial with the club.

smitThe 20-year-old decided not to extend his contract with NEC Nijmegen at the end of the season and had been offered a trial with Brighton.

However, Smit will instead spend two weeks in London after being handed an opportunity to impress Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger on trial.

Smit told newspaper De Gelderlander: ‘This opportunity I have to seize.’
