The 19-year-old failed to make a single PSV appearance this season after falling out with the club due to his refusal to extend his expiring contract, but that hasn’t stopped a cluster of clubs from showing an interest in the winger.
Celtic, Valencia, and especially Sevilla have all previously been linked with a move for the Belgian international, and now Arsenal have stepped into the race according to a report in the Daily Express.
Any interested club would have to pay around €1 million in compensation to PSV despite his contract ending in July.
Hi All
I have read many postings on most football sites and have digested them well. It is reasnably clear to all true Arsenal fans in the footballing world that Mr. Wenger will not buy a world class striker, the reason is simple, he doesn’t like spending on top players who can make things work out for the club, he is more or less interested in building a team than winning trophies.
He who fails to spend competitively in the modern game of football cannot triumph. Jose the Chelsea boss may not be the best manager but has shown great interest in competition and has therefore won trophies, sadly enough, when the professor was taunted over his less ambition all Arsenal fans gone mad, but he was correct, ambition in this case can be proven by getting the right caliber of players to do the right job, but more often than not Arsenal have failed to stand the test of time when they come face to face with bigger clubs.
I want to see Jackson Martinez, Schniderline at the Emirates, then I’ll begin to feel that Arsenal are potent enough to fire up for the Premiership title.
So Alie, what are Alexis Sanchez and Mezuit Ozil? You say Wenger doesnt spend big on top players, these two signings are proof that he does. Jackson Martinez would be a top signing, but, is he really that much better than Giroud or Walcott?
