Oussama Assaidi netted twice as FC Twente recorded a much-needed 3-0 victory over Roda JC.

After a disappointing start to the season, Rene Hake was sacked by Twente earlier this week with Marino Pusic taking charge of the game against Roda JC, with Vertjan Verbeek expected to be appointed next week.
Twente were the better side from the start and after Fredrik Jensen and Danny Holla went close, the hosts were awarded a penalty for a foul on Assaidi by Christian Kum. Assaidi took the penalty himself and calmly made it 1-0.
In the 56th minute, it was 2-0 as Assaidi finished from close range after good work from Tom Boere and Luciano Slagveer. Roda were left furious with the goal as the linesman missed Slagveer being in an offside position.
With fifteen minutes left Twente sealed the victory through Peet Bijen, who tapped in on the rebound after Boere’s header crashed down off the bar.
The win lifts Twente to 13th, while Roda JC slip down to bottom of the table on goal difference.
