Atalanta Bergamo has confirmed the signing of PSV Eindhoven striker Sam Lammers.

The Serie A side has paid PSV around €10 million to sign the 23-year-old, who had a contract in Eindhoven until 2022.

Lammers was in contract negotiations with PSV until the Italian side entered and turned the forward head.

Speaking to the Atalanta website, Lammers said, “My first impressions of the club are very good. I am very happy to be here, finally. I can’t wait to get started.

“I’ve been following Atalanta for a few years now, especially in recent seasons. Especially recently, in the Champions League, in which they have done very well. It is a pity that they did not qualify for the semi-finals in the end, but it is an honour to be part of this team. I look forward to winning many matches, scoring many goals and making great memories.”

Lammers made 29 appearances for PSV, scoring six goals. He also spent a season on loan with Heerenveen, scoring 19 goals.
