Ayoub stated that he hoped that a top three club would come in for him but that did not happen and he therefore feels the need to look beyond Ajax, PSV and Feyenoord in the Netherlands transfer wise. He has been heavily linked with a move to Turkish side Bursaspor this week.
Ayoub said, ”I don’t know if this was my farewell game for FC Utrecht. I am not hoping for anything and I remain completely focused on FC Utrecht and reaching the next round of the Europa League together.
”I know that if I and FC Utrecht are in a position where I can take the next step that they will not stand in my way. I admit there have been talks with different clubs I do not have to mention names. People read things on the internet.
”I want to remain focused on FC Utrecht and ensure that the club is in the pot for the next round of the Europa League.
”I had hoped that a top 3 club would come in for me and I do not know the reasons why that did not happen. I had a good season last year and if you look at the statistics I was involved in a lot of goals and assists as well as scoring goals. Every club has there own way of playing and certain players needed to play fit that criteria. That is why I must look beyond the top 3 clubs in the Netherlands.”
