Yassin Ayoub has departed Feyenoord to join Greek side Panathinaikos on a three-and-a-half year deal.

Ayoub has been unable to make an impact with Feyenoord since joining from Utrecht back in 2018. The midfielder could have left De Kuip in the summer but decided to fight for his place.

He was unsuccessful and has now left to sign a contract with Panathinaikos until 2023.

Ayoub told the Panathinaikos website, “This is a very large club.

“There have been some problems in the last two years, but it remains a big club. I heard the name of Panathinaikos regularly when I was young. I looked up a lot of information on the internet and only then did I realize how amazing Panathinaikos is. I saw videos of forty, fifty, sixty thousand men cheering for this club. Now I am part of this team and I can help bring the club back to where it should be. “

The 25-year-old made 23 appearances for Feyenoord, scoring twice.
